Russian Heritage Map of Brisbane

In May 2018 the Russian Club of Brisbane presented the inaugural Russian Heritage Week 2018 in partnership with the National Trust’s Australian Heritage Festival. Following Russian Heritage Week, the Russian Club volunteers got together with local Brisbane Russian history enthusiast Constantin Drozdovskii, and Viktoria Smolina (author of “Carved in the Stone”  an excellent account of Russian history in Australia) to create the Russian Heritage Map of Brisbane, plotting out places of interest and relevance to Russian heritage in Brisbane. Use the map as a guide for a Russian tour around Brisbane. You can also add places that you know to the map. To do so, simply email us at hello@littlerussianclub.com. The Russian Heritage Map of Brisbane will grow as we add places to it, with your help. The map is a community resource for everyone. Please share, contribute a place, and enjoy.

Special thanks to Dr Maria Kravchenko for her essay on the History of Russians in Brisbane and again to Victoria Smolina for her excellent work “Carved in the Stone” available at the State Library of QLD.
